The Atlantic Water Gardens L-310 Waterfall Pump is a Direct Drive Axial pump. Axial flow pumps work in a different way than centrifugal pumps. Unlike centrifugal pumps that sacrifice flow for pressure, axial pumps accelerate water through the pump without restriction. This gives them the ability to produce tremendous volumes but at very low pressures. Atlantic Axial pumps require large diameter plumbing that reduces friction pressure in order to deliver the massive flows they are capable of.
